For He will Hide Me

Hello dear Ones!

How has your week been? Did you do any Scripture writing this week? I hope you did! I wrote two verses from Psalm 27, which is a chapter that I memorized years and years ago. I did not review it though, so had completely forgotten about it. I have noticed that these two verses, along with the first three I wrote last week, are a bit easier to brush off and re-learn than the verses I am writing that I have never memorized before. I am glad, because it gives me hope that even when I am not able to quote them word perfectly, God’s Word is still being hidden in my heart any time I spend time reading it, writing it, or memorizing it! I know I am not giving enough attention to the verses I am writing out each week to have them cemented in my memory, but I have decided not to let my perfectionism keep me from doing what I CAN! And so, in this line of thought, as I write out some Scripture each week, I try as I can to memorize it, and at the very least I can ponder and think about it during the week!

These two verses took up most of the room on my notebook page again, so not a lot of room for art—but that’s ok as well! It is God’s Word that is important—not any drawing and such by me! But God the Creator made us creative as well, so I enjoyed squeezing in a little something.

As I drew, I thought about these verses. The Psalmist valued dwelling in God’s house above other things—it is what he sought after and prayed for. In fact, he never wanted to leave but wanted to keep looking at God’s beauty. Do we value going to God’s house this much? Looking at Him? Are we looking at Him more than we look at social media? Ouch! That thought can hurt, can’t it?!

And God will be our refuge, and hide us in the day of trouble. He covers us—and is the only true place of safety. While the storms do rage all around us, we can rest assured that our God will never fail us. Even as the storm rages, we can hide in our Savior. He will never leave us or forsake us!

I do hope you spend time in God’s house this week—and gaze at His loveliness. He has written you a love letter—have you read it today?

Until next time,

Friend
