The LORD is my Light

Hello dear Ones!

How has your week been? I had “thought” mine would be rather open and empty of appointments and activities, but I ended up wrong on that count!

I wanted to share with you my Scripture Writing for this past week. It was a three verse week for me, so not a lot of room left on the page for illustrations—not that every verse has to have an illustration, but I have been enjoying thinking of some little thing to draw. At first, I had penciled a little flower on the side of the page, but I wasn’t completely happy with the drawing. After sleeping on it, I woke up and knew what I wanted to draw for these verses—a light house!

I love light houses! And I love the promises in Psalm 27, so they just seemed to go together well. As the light house give light to the captains on boats passing near, so God is our light house, shining His light and guiding us away from danger. We may not see “why” we shouldn’t do something. But just as the captain cannot see the submerged rocks, there are dangers in life we do not know about—but God knows. Following His light and guidance can help keep us safe from so many dangers. And when a storm does arise, He is our safe shelter and stronghold.

Have you ever visited a light house? Did you do any scripture writing this week? If so, what did you write?

Until next time,
Friend

  1. I love your scripture writing drawings. I write out a scripture in my journal every day and mediate on that verse.

  2. Thank you for your kind words! I hope to build up to writing out a verse daily, but I also enjoy adding a bit of a drawing which I am not fast at so it takes me a while! But I as well really enjoying thinking about the verse/verses as the day goes on! It is such a blessing!

    1. Thank you Lisa! I am so happy you are enjoying and being blessed by them! I do not feel like I am naturally a very creative person with my writing or drawings, but I am trying not to let my perfectionism stop me and just do it anyway!
