Free Gift!!!

 Hello dear Ones!

I am a bit later than usual in sharing last week’s memory verse.  Just lots of things keeping me really busy—I’m sure you are busy as well! But even if I am late in sharing it—the important thing is that we are tucking scripture away into our hearts.

There was something new for me in the verse this time.  Evidently, I have never read this particular verse in the English Standard Version! Because while the verse itself is very familiar—you know, one of those verses we have heard so often that we sort of gloss over it type of familiar—there was something brand new to me as I read it in this version.  Was it new for you as well?  Looking at my picture, is there something standing out to you, jumping up and down, and waving its hands?  For me, there most definitely is!  And it is the word “Free!”  None of the other versions I remember hearing have had the words “free gift,” but rather simply “gift.” Now I realize it kinda means the same thing—at least, unless it is a gift as the expression goes that is given with “strings attached.” I especially appreciate the word “free” being used as it takes any thoughts that this might be THAT type of gift away from our minds.

Not only are there no strings attached—but this isn’t something we can EARN either.  Nope.  Not. One. Bit. Isn’t that wonderful news?  It sure is for me, because I know full well that I could never ever earn it—even if I tried my very best.  I need rescuing.  I need help.  I need a Savior—and the very best news is that I have One!!!!

And you know what, dear One?  You have One as well!  A free gift.  Rescuing. Help. A Savior. In this time of increasing expenses with decreasing income, of disasters and job losses, of illness or death—we have our Knight in shining armor!

“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God. And the armies of heaven, arrayed in fine linen, white and pure, were following him on white horses. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the wine press of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.” Revelation 11-16

THAT’S my Knight in shining armor!!! And He is yours as well! All you need to do is accept His FREE gift!

I hope you already have.  And if you have, that you accept it again and again and again every single day.  And if you haven’t—there is no better time than right now, this very moment.

You will never find anyone who will love you more.

Until next time—

Friend
