Cast Your Burden

Hello Dear Ones!

I am so happy to share this week’s verse with you! Isn’t this a treasure? What a precious, precious promise!

The very first word in the verse stands out to me—cast. Do you know what this word means? What it really means? This is not a simple act of letting something we are carrying fall gently out of our hands—no indeed! Looking up the word in the dictionary I read that it means “an act of throwing something forcefully.” Forcefully means with FORCE! Not gentle. With strength. With compulsion. Are we insisting on limping on our way carrying life’s stresses in our own strength? When we have a Savior right next to us who is pleading with us to let Him carry them for us, for He sees it is too much for us to bear.

Do we not all experience burdens while living in this sin-filled world? I think we do. Even those that you look at around you whom SEEM to have everything all “together” may be carrying heavy burdens that you know nothing about. I think of a wonderful Christian wife and mother that I have watched several of her YouTube videos. One day, in the video she shared a burden she carries that I knew nothing about—one of her adult children has left the Lord and is living a life currently that is filled with drug use. This beautiful woman had not even been able to talk with her adult child for around four years, and has no idea where they are living currently. Whether they are dead or alive. What a burden! You see? It is not just you who has things to carry. I never would have known—but her Savior and Burden-Bearer knows. And it is He who is carrying this burden for her. Without Him to carry her each and every day, she would not make it. She knows that He loves her adult child even more than she does, and that HE knows where they are, and is working to give them every opportunity to return to Him. What a beautiful Redeemer!

So this is your gift from your Savior today, tomorrow, and the day after that. He is pleading with you to let Him carry your burdens for you. He knows they are too heavy for you to carry, and He will sustain you. He will never EVER permit you to be moved—just keep your hand in His!

Until next time,

Friend

  1. Beautiful post. I see many people each day that could sure use this advice and turn their lives to God. It worries me, that they will not have a beautiful eternity. God is our Savior and our Light. I can't imagine my life without Him.

    1. Oh I feel the same way! Life is so hard on this sin filled earth. I could never make it without God. I am so sorry for people who do not know Him—that is why it is so important to share with others the source of our happiness!
