Do Not Fear

Good Morning Dear Ones!

Welcome to 2025! It is a brand new year—a fresh start, filled with hopes and dreams and plans. Just like every year, we hope that THIS year, something will be different. We want to lose weight, become organized, get that high paying job. Maybe it is not something we want—but rather something we DON’T want to happen this new year. Somehow, we long for something better than the last year brought us.

Now don’t get me wrong—I think it is wonderful to take some time for self reflection, taking a good look at our lives and praying for guidance and help in areas that we need help in (isn’t that ALL areas, really?). There is nothing wrong at all with new inspiration to improve our health, relationships, or physical spaces around us. But what will our shiny new plans look like by February 1? What about by March 1? Will they be a bit tarnished and less shiny? Will we have given up?

I do hope you spend some time praying about your life, and asking God what He would like to see happen. Each day is a gift from Him, after all, so who better to ask what is the best use of that gift? I am reading through a new Bible this year, and greatly enjoying the study notes (I started my one year Bible reading plan on November 1). I have other various goals and habits I am taking steps to add. But through it all—whether this next year brings good things or hard things—we have no need to fear, for God is with us. And God with us makes this the best new year ever.

Do you make new year goals or resolutions? What are some of your plans? Are you reading through your Bible this year? Please share! 🙂

Until next time,

Friend

  1. Happy new year! I set a few goals and changes I would like to do - no resolutions. Hopefully I just work at bettering myself in all ways. Walking with God is my best plan for the year! God bless.

    1. I like that—setting goals and challenges! I do think it is good to always be trying to improve, as long as we can be realistic and take and celebrate baby steps.
