New Year—New Blessings!
Hello Dear Ones!
It’s a new year—isn’t it lovely to have a fresh start? It is common for people to make New Year’s resolutions. It is equally common for those resolutions to fall by the wayside after a few weeks! ;)
What about you—do you like to make resolutions for the New Year? I don’t specifically make New Year’s resolutions, but I do spend some time thinking about what direction I would like to see my life taking over the next several months. I think it is good to evaluate every now and then—just to make sure you are still on track. I treasure the promise in Lamentations 3:22-23, which tells us “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Now THAT is a “New” thing that we can be thankful for every single day—new mercies!
The above picture is of one of my “new” things, though I suspect this will be something for years to come, not just this year. It is a set of blank journals, just waiting for me to copy the New Testament into them. This is one of my goals, to help encourage myself in my developing a closer walk with God. I have READ the Bible through several times—and indeed am starting on that goal once again—but I have a desire to slow down even more, thinking and praying my way through the Bible. When I found these blank journals, organized for copying the New Testament, I knew I REALLY wanted to get them! Yes, they are blank journals. But they are organized inside with space already designated for chapters and verses for each Bible book. I will share more pictures of the inside as I get started using them. The entire set is the New Testament plus they have Psalms and Proverbs. The journals are available for purchase individually, but there is a bit of a discount when purchasing the entire set. I prayed and waited after I learned about them, and over time, I was able to gather up enough to get the entire set! My hubby and I were both given a $50 Amazon gift card from our employer, and my husband graciously gave me his since he knew I was wanting these journals. My specific department gifted me an additional $25 Amazon gift card, as did a sweet niece. Putting these all together gave me almost exactly the amount I needed. I am grateful and excited! Now to choose just ONE to get started with!
I have other goals for the new year—health, finances, etc. but nothing else is as important to me as my walk with my Creator. If you have not already done so, I encourage you to think about what will move you closer to the One who laid down His life to save you. Whatever you decide to do, it will be time well spent.
I pray blessings on all of you, dear friends!
Until next time!
